Grandma and Grandpa

Max was a lucky boy last weekend to see quite a bit of his Grandma, and visit Grandpa on his birthday.

The school holidays meant that Grandma had some free time, so she came up to Brisbane to visit her daughters and grandchildren. She visited Cam, Max and I on Thursday and we had a wonderful day together. In the morning we went shopping, since Max loves being in the trolley and is always interested in going to the shops, and I had to get something for Grandpa's birthday. It also ended up being a great shopping trip for me, since Grandma took the opportunity to buy me birthday presents too!

In the afternoon we all went down to the park to go for a walk and feed the ducks. Although Max ate some of the stale bread before we could throw it into the water we all had fun doing this. Then we found some swings and gave Max a go on these, which he really loves. He just laughs his head off when he swings towards me and really has an excellent time, so we all enjoyed it.
When we got home it was time for Max to have dinner and a bath, and just enough time for Grandma to read him a bedtime story before she headed home.

Then on Friday night we got a sleepy Max out of bed at about 8pm and headed out to the farm. We spent a nice quiet weekend out there, catching up with friends and family and just relaxing. Sunday was Grandpa's birthday so we enjoyed a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs and Max had fun with the wrapping paper from his presents.

Over the weekend Grandpa had been trying to get Max to say 'Grandpa' or even just 'Pa'. However, Max must have thought that 'Pa' sounded too much like a raspberry because whenever Grandpa said it, that's all Max would do!
